Shifting yourself from a mostly active income business (one-on-one services!) to perpetual, leveraged and recurring income is key to your Meaningful Streams™ success.
One of the simplest ways to get out from under the active income trap is to create a group, which is leveraged income. Try moving the 15 clients you are seeing in one-on-one sessions -- to one group session.
You instantly save yourself hours of session time and make more money per hour. AND this shift frees you to run additional groups in your new-found hours. Essentially you make more money and get to help more people.
Now when I tell people this, their next question is, "What are the most effective and lucrative types of groups to launch?" So here goes - here is my 2 cents on 3 types of fee-based groups that you can launch immediately.
#1 Mastermind Group
With a mastermind group, you act as a facilitator and coordinator. An example of a mastermind group would be a group of business owners all focused on growing their businesses, sharing their resources with each other, reviewing each other business plans, networking and collaborating with each other, brainstorming and in general supporting each other as they grow together. Mastermind groups can be run as 1) stand-a-lone offers or 2) inside a larger program like a coaching club where the mastermind meetings are a core part of the offer or 3) as part of a multi-week event that includes a weekly mastermind group to help people integrate what they are learning on the training calls.
#2 Peer Group
Peer groups are also sometimes called support groups. You lead and facilitate a group of peers who may be in the same profession or share a common experience. An example would be executive women in the legal profession joining a group called “Life and Work Balance.” These women would get together to share their experiences with each other, supporting each other by listening, cheer leading and honoring each other. They would learn new strategies from you, as their leader and guide. These groups are usually not based on a strict lesson plan, yet rather follow whatever is up for the group during each session.
#3 Action Group
For an Action group, you are the instructor and guide. You help people reach a goal. A good example would be a telecourse or workshop series called “12 Weeks to Double Your Business.” Groups like these are usually held for a set number of weeks, meeting once per week. As the leader, you can include homework, so people can go off and complete a part of the program between sessions and then come back to share the results. These are results-oriented groups and can fit nicely into your business model if you have an already defined, step-by-step process to share.

Of course, you can mix and match groups to suit your teaching style and the needs of your clients. An action group program can include a mastermind call once a month to help people "think out loud" and help them truly start to adopt what you've been teaching during the other weeks.
You can find lots of examples of these types of groups on the web. Do a search and see what you find - look for creative approaches. Check out pricing models too. Then look at your business and brainstorm ideas for your own groups.
- What is the goal of the group?
- What solution do you want to offer?
- Is it based on a book or a step-by-step program of yours?
- What major challenges do your clients have in common?
- What change do they really want to manifest in their lives?
- What type of group would help your clients get the best results?
Get creative and craft groups that offer those solutions. Then survey your list (with a tool like Survey Monkey) listing your best ideas and have your customers tell you their top picks! Good luck!
- Do you want to offer groups to your clients and make more money, while serving more people?
- Do you want help pricing your groups?
- Or creating a pre-launch system so you have a more successful launch?
- Or do you want help selecting the best conference call service for your teleclass series so you can easily manage the call and get the best recordings?
- Do you want to know the best things to include in your group offer to keep people signing up again and again?
Yes? Then consider joining us in the Master Success Circle. We've got this topic covered! By creating groups like these, you'll be using Step # 8 of the $1000 a Day Business Model: Leverage the Power of Groups.
You can check out a case study about a client who used this step to create a new program that had the potential (conservatively) to increase her income by $4500 a month by clicking here: $1000 a Day, Meaningful Streams Case Studies.
Enjoy!
